PRE-PAID PARKING

Can I make a Pre-Paid Parking booking to park at the NEC or Resorts World Arena today?

Yes, you can book your parking online on the day you are attending, as long as there is still space available.  However, it is cheaper to book in advance (up to midnight the night before your visit) so prices will be different if you book on the day.

How far ahead can I book?

In most cases, Pre-Paid Parking is available to book at the same point that your event tickets go on general sale for Resorts World Arena events, and up to 6 months in advance for NEC events.

Does pre-booking guarantee my parking space in a specific car park? 

No there are no designated car parks for pre-paid parking. Once on the NEC site, please ignore the Sat Nav and simply follow the digital screens to the car park.

Visitors with disabilities should follow the special blue signs for blue badge holders parking.  By pre-paying you will be saving time on the day by not having to queue to pay for your parking, giving you one less thing to do and worry about.

Can I cancel my Pre-Paid Parking booking if my plans change? 

You can amend your booking details, but it is not possible to cancel your booking.

Can I amend my Pre-Paid Parking booking if my plans change?

If you need to change your vehicle registration or date of attendance details from those originally booked, you can do this by clicking on ‘Manage My Booking’ link on your booking confirmation email.

What are the stay periods for Pre-Paid Parking?  

Car Parks are normally open from 08:00hrs each day.  Special access will be made for events starting earlier.  Please note that overnight parking is not permitted on the NEC site.

How do I know my booking has been placed?  

When you complete your booking online, you will see a confirmation web page with a booking reference number. You will also receive a Booking confirmation email with your booking details and your parking ticket attached.  Please remember that you MUST print your ticket and bring it with you on your event day.

What do I do when I get to the NEC?

Once you arrive on the NEC site, please ignore the Sat Nav and simply follow the digital screens for directions to the car park. Please note that there are no designated car parks for pre-paid parking. Once parked, please leave your parking ticket visible in your windscreen. Your ticket will be needed in order to exit the car park after your event.  Please note that If you do not have your printed ticket you will be required to pay the ‘on the day’ parking price.     

Are there any restrictions on the kind of vehicle I can bring?  

Bookings can only be made for cars/vehicles which fit within a standard parking space. There are no height restrictions on our standard car parks. 

I’ve lost my booking confirmation number. How can I retrieve it? 

If you have lost your booking confirmation number, you will be able to retrieve the details from the “Manage My Booking” link on your booking confirmation email.

NEC EXPRESS PARKING 

Can I make an NEC Express booking to park at the NEC or Resort World Arena today? 

Yes, you can make an NEC Express booking on the day you are attending, as long as there is still space available.

How far ahead can I book?  

It is possible to book up to 3 months in advance of your event, subject to availability.  In doing so, you will be required to pay for your parking in advance. 

Does pre-booking guarantee my parking space? 

All bookings guarantee you a space in your designated car park, details of which will be given during the booking process.   

Can I cancel or amend my car parking booking if my plans change? 

You can amend your booking details, but it is not possible to cancel your booking.

Can I amend my car parking booking if my plans change?

What are the stay periods for NEC Express?  

For NEC Express, depending on whether your event is in the day or evening, the stay periods are as follows: 
-       Day event : 08:00 – 18:00 
-       Evening event : 18:00 – 23:59 

How do I know my booking has been placed?  

When you complete your booking online, you will see a confirmation web page with a booking reference number. You will also receive a Booking confirmation email with your Booking details.  You should print this email and bring it with you to the allocated NEC Express car park to help in the event of any query

What do I do when I get to my Express car park?  

Please refer to the individual instructions provided in your Booking confirmation email for directions to your allocated car park.  Please have your printed booking confirmation paperwork available to gain access to the car park.   

Are there any restrictions on the kind of vehicle I can bring?  

We only accept bookings for cars and people carriers (up to 9 seats).  Vans or commercial vehicles with crew cabs are not permitted.  You are not entitled to a refund if your vehicle is a van or commercial vehicle with a crew cab. EXHIBITOR ADVANTAGE

Can I make an Exhibitor Advantage booking to park at the NEC today?  

Yes, you can make an Exhibitor Advantage booking on the day you are attending, as long as there is still space available.

How far ahead can I book?

It is possible to book up to 3 months in advance of your event, subject to availability. In doing so, you will be required to pay for your parking in advance.

Why can’t I get a quote for the hall I’m looking for?  

The most likely explanation is that the pre-book space availability for this hall has been filled.  Please note that if you can’t book the car park for the required dates and require assistance, please contact our Sales and Customer Support Team on Telephone: 0844 338 8338 and select option 2.

What happens if my car gets damaged while parked in the car park?  

In the unlikely event of this happening, you must report this to security on 0121 767 2393 immediately and before leaving site. They will arrange someone to meet you to record details. You will need to report the matter to your insurers.  No liability is accepted by the NEC Group.

Car Parking Charges

Why are you increasing your prices?

We have taken the difficult decision to increase our parking charges at the NEC as part of our annual pricing review. We recognise news of any price increase is never welcome, but we’re afraid our venue is continuing to experience inflationary pressures across all areas of service delivery and unfortunately car parking provision is no different. Having said that, we are pleased that the increase is significantly below current inflation levels and, in the case of pre-pay advance parking, we have been able to limit the increase to just £0.10. The increase means we can meet our commitment to maintaining our parking provisions, ensuring we can cover the increasing utilities, maintenance and resourcing costs.

Why has paying in advance increased by 10p, while on the day is £1 more expensive?

Booking in advance and using our pre-pay advance parking is the most cost-effective option for visitors to our venue via https://www.thenec.co.uk/visitors/parking-at-the-nec/. We hope to encourage visitors to take this option as it provides a better overall customer experience, while saving £5 compared to the standard on-the-day rate. It’s also helpful for us to plan our operations effectively when we know how many cars to expect on site in advance.

I want to pay on the day, why should I pay more than people in advance for the same service?

Paying in advance and using our pre-pay advance parking is the most cost-effective option for visitors to our venue via https://www.thenec.co.uk/visitors/parking-at-the-nec/. We want to encourage visitors to take this option as it provides a better overall customer experience. Having information on the expected number of cars also helps us to provide a better service. It’s also more cost-effective for us to process payments online compared to our on-site ticket machines

The car park tariff also increased last year, why is it being increased again?

Why is the price different for Resorts World Arena visitors?

How does the NEC car parking charge match up to other exhibition venues?

We remain very competitive in our marketplace. Examples from other venues include:

• ExCeL, London: £20 for up to 24 hours

• Olympia, London: 6-10 hours is £29, 10-24 hours is £40 (pre-booking is £30*)

• Manchester Central: £28.45 for 7-24 hours

Do you think this will impact on visitor numbers?

We don’t anticipate a direct impact on visitor numbers. We’re also looking to keep our car parking charges in a competitive range compared to other venues, with our central location meaning we benefit from excellent public transport links in addition to being at the heart of the national motorway network.

How does this affect blue badge parkers?

Like most venues, we charge for blue badge parking. We pride ourselves on providing dedicated help points near where our blue badge car parking spaces are located for those who are unaccompanied and require assistance.

How can you increase your parking charges given the quality of some of the car parks?

We’re always looking at ways to improve our car parking facilities, aiming to deliver a great experience for each one of our customers. Visitor insight tells us our parking provision feels organised and efficient. People also like the friendly shuttle bus service we provide, which makes accessing the exhibition halls quicker and easier.

Aren’t you just profiteering off car parking?

We remain very competitive in our market, with an increase of just £0.10 in the case of pre-pay advance parking.

I am an organiser who pays for my visitor car parking – so does it mean my charge is going up?

A number of organisers do choose to pay car parking charges for their visitors and any existing arrangements that are currently contracted will of course remain in place.

What are you doing about minibuses, coaches & taxi charges – are these all going up too?

On the day NEC minibus and coach parking charges will increase to:

Minibuses: £22.95 per day, Coaches: £29.95 per day

What about people who didn’t know you could pay in advance? How are you planning to publicise the changes?

We are taking every step we can to promote pre-pay advance parking, ensuring visitors are aware of the options available to them via https://www.thenec.co.uk/visitors/parking-at-the-nec/. This includes promoting wherever possible, including providing digital assets to organisers to use, as well as promoting on our own channels including social media.

Can you guarantee that you won’t be raising prices again soon?

We will review our pricing annually.

If a visitor goes on the 2nd or 3rd day of a show, what counts as on-the-day booking?

We classify on-the-day as any time after 00.00 of the day of your visit. So, if you attend on a Saturday, you can still benefit from cheaper online booking prices if you book on Friday, even if the show started on the Thursday.

If customers buy online, will they need to print out their ticket?

We strongly encourage visitors to have a paper print out of their parking ticket as it is much faster to process. Having solely a phone version may slow down your exit from the car park.

If visitors want to complain, will you have staff available to handle this or can we expect them to come into our event organiser office?

We will have car park staff on hand throughout the day for your event. If they cannot resolve a visitor query at the time, we would recommend visitors send complaints to us via the below means.
