Travel notice: Rail strikes

The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) has announced industrial action on:

Saturday 26 August & Saturday 2 September 2023

The Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen (ASLEF) union has also announced a day of industrial action on:

Friday 1 September 2023

What does this mean?

This industrial action is likely to result in little or no rail services across large areas of the network on the above 3 days.

Services are also likely to be disrupted and start later on the days immediately following a strike day.

What can I do?

• If you need to travel by train, please plan ahead, leave more time for your journey and check before you travel with local operators and National Rail. In many instances, services may not be running at all.

• As well as the impact on the road network, bus and Metro services are likely to be busier so please allow more time for your journey.
