National Rail Strikes

New train strike dates have been announced by ASLEF Union which may affect travel to the NEC campus if travelling by train.  

A full breakdown of which travel companies are affected on which day can be found below: 

  • Friday 5th April: Avanti West Coast, CrossCountry, East Midlands Railway, London Northwestern Railway and West Midlands Railway. 
  • Saturday 6th April: Chiltern Railways, Great Western Railway, Heathrow Express, LNER, Northern and TransPennine Express 
  • Monday 8th April – C2C, Gatwick Express, Greater Anglia, Great Northern, Southeastern, Southern, South Western Railway and Thameslink. 

In addition, the above train operators will have an overtime ban from Thursday 4 April to Saturday 6 April, and from Monday 8th April to Tuesday 9th April. There is a heightened risk of short-term amendments or cancellations for Sunday 7th April.  

Please visit the National Rail Enquiries Journey Planner close to your date of travel to review your options. If your route is affected, you may wish to travel via car to the NEC Campus.
