M42 J6 - Northern Bridge Closure

Routine inspections of the bridge at the northern side of the M42 junction 6 roundabout have identified deterioration in the condition of the structure. As a result, National Highways have taken precautionary steps to manage remove the load on the bridge deck while they carry out further investigations.

This means that no traffic is being permitted to cross the bridge.

What this means for your journey

• Inbound traffic is not affected – although some delays may be experienced.
• Traffic leaving the Southway can only access M42 Northbound.
• All other exiting traffic is being diverted off site via the Eastway and Northway. (see attached)
• Diversion routes are in place.
• The M42 remains open in both directions beneath the bridge

Delays are possible so please allow extra time for your journey.
