Please note there are roadworks in place on the M42 which may affect your journey to and from the NEC this weekend.
M42 Northbound will be closed between J6 and 7 from 9pm on Friday 23rd June until 5am on Monday 26th June. M42 Southbound will also be closed from J9 to J6 overnight from 9pm-5am on the same dates.
Please allow extra time for your journey or consider travelling by train, as it is likely that there will be delays. If you are travelling by car, diversion routes will be in place.
Please see below some extra detail on suggested routes:
- There are no diversions for those travelling to the NEC, but we expect M42 Northbound at J6 to be very busy, as other non-NEC motorway traffic will be exiting at J6 to pick up the diversion.
- For traffic leaving the NEC and requiring M42 Northbound, please follow the diversion route of A45 to Stonebridge and the A452 / A446 to M42 J9.
- For those leaving the NEC and heading south on the M42, there are no diversions.
- For those leaving the NEC heading for M6 J4, please use the Northway and A452 Southbound to Stonebridge and then A452 Northbound / A446 to M6 J4.
