Brewing equipment and technology event to launch at the NEC

The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) will host a brand new exhibition targeted at the brewing industry – Brewing and Equipment Technology. The event, organised by Quartz Business Media, will take place at the Birmingham venue from 18-19 May 2016.

The brand new trade show has been designed for brewers of any size to source new equipment, technology, measuring and monitoring tools, training, packaging, branding, ingredients and consultancy.

Steve Diprose, Vice President at Quartz Business Media, said: “Currently, the supply of information to the UK brewing industry is extremely limited but as we are entering a 'beer boom in micro/craft brewing', we felt that this was the right time to launch a platform where different sectors of the industry can meet.”

The news marks the return of trade exhibition organiser Quartz Business Media to the NEC for the first time since 2011.

Diprose continued: “We wanted this show to reach a national audience so location and connectivity were important factors for us when choosing a venue. The NEC is located in the heart of the country and has fantastic transport links by road and rail so ticked all of our boxes. Having hosted events there before we know that it is not only a flexible venue that offers us the ability to grow, it also has a fantastic team working behind the scenes.”

The concept for the new show was originally discussed between Paul Thandi, CEO of the NEC Group, Paul Michael, President of Quartz Business Media and Sophie Gardner, Senior Account Manager at the NEC.  The NEC Group’s in-house Insight team was then tasked with researching the market and potential of the show.

Gardner said: “It is important for us as a venue to understand the market that our organisers are targeting so that we can be fully engaged in helping develop a strategy for the show. Our Insight team is regularly involved in these early conversations, especially with new shows, and they found that this was a viable concept. We are delighted to welcome Quartz Business Media back to the NEC and are looking forward to helping deliver a fantastic new show.”
