Exhibitor Parking FAQs

  • GENERAL
    • Do exhibitors receive free parking?

Exhibitors must validate to benefit from free parking during build and break down. How you validate will differ depending on your event. If you have been provided with a promo code (via the Event Organiser) please enter this when you pre-book your parking. Alternatively, you will automatically receive free parking when using the Voyage Control booking system or you can obtain a QR code from the lorry park team, venue security or the organiser team.

    • Can I leave my vehicle overnight?

Leaving your vehicle overnight is possible, however, please ensure you select overnight parking at the point of booking. If you do not select overnight parking and remain onsite beyond 2.00AM overstay charges will apply.

    • How far in advance can I book my exhibitor parking?

It is possible to book up to 3 months in advance of your event, subject to availability.  If your event is less than 3 months away but is not available to pre-book, please keep checking the website as we always aim to upload parking details 3 months in advance, though there may be the occasional delays.

  • BUILD
    • How do I unload / make a stand delivery ahead of the exhibition?

Exhibitors wanting to make stand deliveries via the rear of the exhibition halls will need book a slot using our Voyage Control event delivery system. Please note, parking behind the halls during the build period is for offloading only. Once you have finished your delivery you can move your vehicle to any visitor car park – your Voyage Control QR code will allow you to exit the car park for free. Please note, if you have booked your vehicle in for delivery via the Voyage Control system you don’t need to pre-book as well as your vehicle registration will already be recognised by our ANPR system.

    • What it meant by a 'deposit system'?

If it is a particularly busy event, a deposit system may be in place whereby delivery/offloading is time-restricted and failure to remove your vehicle from the rear of the halls will result in an overstay charge. Please read the Voyage Control user guide here ahead of booking your delivery slot: nec-end-user-guide-2021.pdf

    • Can I park in a visitor car park during build?

If you do not need to make a stand delivery via the rear of the exhibition halls but want to park in a visitor car park during the build period you can do so, though you must ensure you validate your parking to take advantage of your free parking. We recommend doing this by pre-booking your exhibitor parking. If you didn’t manage to pre-book speak to a member of venue security or the organiser team for help. Unfortunately, if you don’t validate your free parking, your vehicle won’t be recognised at the exit barrier and the standard on the day rate will apply (card payment only).

  • EVENT OPEN DAYS
    • I want to park during event open days, will I have to pay?

While some events offer free parking for exhibitors during event open days (in this instance promocodes will be provided to exhibitors via the Event Organiser) others will require exhibitors to pay for parking if you leave your vehicle in one of the visitor car parks during event open days. We recommend pre-booking your parking in advance to benefit from the best prices, however, you can also pay on the day if needed - please see the signage advertised in the venue for instructions.

    • What is Exhibitor Advantage?

Exhibitor Advantage gives you with a guaranteed parking space at the rear of the halls during event open days. This provides the flexibility to arrive late or leave early.  You can book for individual days but please note, the last day of show open cannot be booked on its own (and it is not available for one day events). Exhibitor Advantage is available for cars and people carriers only and does not include overnight parking.

    • How do I book Exhibitor Advantage?

Exhibitor Advantage is available for most shows and can be booked up to 3 months in advance of your event (subject to availability). Just select the Exhibitor Advantage upgrade option during the pre-booking process.

  • BREAK DOWN
    • How do I book parking for exhibitor breakdown?

Pre-booking via Voyage Control is not required for exhibitors using the lorry park to access the rear of the halls for break down.  However, a separate NEC QR code is required for the breakdown period, if you are parking your vehicle in a visitor car park. Simply collect an NEC QR code from the lorry park team, venue security or our organiser team and validate at the pay-on-foot machines in the venue or at the car park exit barrier.

  • BOOKING ASSISTANCE
    • I need help with an exhibitor promo code for free parking

Promo codes are unique and single use only. Use of promo codes is traceable to individual bookings and will be issued to exhibitors on a show by show basis, usually via the Event Organiser. If you have any problems using your promocode please contact the NEC Parking team via the below contact details:

      Tel: 0121 767 2100
      Email: [email protected]

    • Can I amend or cancel my booking?

You can amend your booking details, but it is not possible to cancel your booking. If you need to make any changes ahead of our event, simply use the 'Manage my Booking' link in your confirmation email - amendments can be made right up until midnight the day before your arrival.

    • I can’t find an answer to my question in the FAQs.

If you can’t find an answer to your question above, please contact the NEC Parking team on [email protected]. Please note, our parking team receives a high volume of requests, particularly at busy event times, so it may take several days for your email to be responded to.
