HIGHLIGHTS

Team Update

Some of our more experienced members of the Event Management and Health & Safety Team completed their Level 5 Crowd Management course.  With our diversification goals we wanted to be on the front foot and this qualification really helped to hone their skills in visitor and crowd management.  Michelle Baldwin, Gemma Ellis, Rachel Maybury Smith, Rachel Jennings, Kara Pridmore, Angela Roberts and Sarah Kelly are amongst some of the wider team that achieved their Level 5, and we are proud to be adding a formal qualification.

Continuing on with the learning theme several table-tops have taken place on site exposing our teams to more dynamic training.

Event Week Live and Elite

The NEC Team are not only happy in investing in its people but also welcoming talent to our Industry.  Event Week Live will be soon upon us 4 – 8 March whereby we invite 50 students onto site from local Universities and show them the ropes and discuss the wonderful world of events.  The week accumulates with a networking event where we see even more students from across the UK, the AEV, Power of Events, Organiser, Contractors, Promotors come together to help support the Event students from the world of academia to the world of face to face.  During the week we talent spot and offer approx. 20 students a mentoring programme for the year whereby they shadow our Teams helping them to build their CV’s for when they do graduate and forge relationships and understanding of some of the practicalities of working within events. Aiming to get more people, venues, Industry to join the initiative and create a fully immersive learning experience.  Watch out for more updates.

DATA UNLEASHED

The show insights include Wi-Fi insights which detects movement around your show in order to retrieve data on metrics such as footfall and dwell time, and post event statistics which includes utility, marketing, visitor feedback and mode of travel statistics. Both Wi-Fi insights and post event statistics can be access via Event Connect. If you’re having any trouble accessing Event Connect please contact your usual NEC contact.
