Some childhood fascinations never leave you. One of those is dolls houses and all the tiny things that go in them to make the perfect miniature home. Whether you are 6 or 60, creating your own small world is both enthralling and satisfying. With so many dolls house and miniature makers in the UK, and around the world, the choices are endless! Miniatura is one of the biggest miniature events in the world and is renowned for showcasing the most varied and best quality miniaturists under one roof.
Miniatura Organiser, Andy Hopwood commented, “Visitors and exhibitor numbers at our last few events haven’t shown any sign of abating. If anything, I think people turn to their hobbies during times of austerity as it offers some ‘escapism’. For the Autumn show we have a broad range of exhibitors offering everything for the amateur to the seasoned collector with many ‘exclusives’ available at this show only.”
There is something for everyone and you can spend as little or as much as you like from a £2 silk cushion to a highly detailed handmade inlaid marquetry piece of furniture worth over £4,000!
The two day event in September will bring together a unique group of highly skilled exhibitors not only from the UK, but overseas including Spain, Germany, Holland and Switzerland. Over 80% of the items available to buy at the show are painstakingly handmade with some being one-offs and much sought after.
