The NEC aims to be fully accessible and user-friendly for disabled visitors.
This is a quick guide to some of our facilities – if you would like to know more, please contact us.
By Train: From Birmingham International Railway Station, access to The NEC is via our covered ‘Bridgelink’.
By Car: We have recently upgraded our facilities for parking and getting to your venue.
Wheelchair Access: All levels of The NEC are accessible to wheelchair users, via lifts, and have wheelchair friendly toilet facilities. The Piazza and Atrium main entrances have automatic doors.
Please note, you should bring your Blue Badge with you, even if you are arriving by taxi.
If you are arriving by taxi and have your Blue Badge with you, you will be able to be dropped off at the main entrances. If you also require a pick up, please advise the taxi firm that you have a blue badge and the taxi will be permitted to pick you up from the main entrances. If you are using a T.O.A black cab you will be picked up at the ranks by the main entrances.
If you are arriving by private car and have your Blue Badge with you, you will be directed to the nearest disabled car park - where you can be dropped off and picked up at the end of your visit. Please note there is a £12 charge for parking - please see the parking section for more details.
Wheelchairs - available free of charge for blue badge holders and £5 for all other visitors. The number of wheelchairs we have available is limited, so if you’ve got your own, please bring it with you.
Scooters - £15 per day for all visitors.
We strongly advise visitors to pre-book equipment to avoid disappointment. Bartrams (our mobility service partner) operate a telephone booking line Monday to Friday 0900hrs-1700hrs on 01353 778756.
Visitors can also book via Bartram’s website. For any visitors who have not pre-booked equipment and arrive on the day, any remaining stock will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a non-refundable scheme. As Bartrams’ location varies from show to show, please check the collection point when making a booking.
Please note: Mobilty equipment hire is only available during show open times.
Assistance dogs are welcome, but we do not recommend that you bring them to events where noise levels are high.
Induction loop audio systems are fitted in various locations.
If you’re visiting the NEC for an event, please book your tickets on our dedicated Ticket Line for disabled visitors (The Ticket Factory)

Let us know when you’re booking if you need a wheelchair space or have any special requirements, so that we can arrange for everything to be ready on your arrival. We can also help you book the most convenient seating for visitors with visual impairment.
Please note: all ticket sales are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
