OCS and the NEC Group won the Security Partnering Initiative of the Year at the IFSEC Security & Fire Excellence Awards 2014 - hosted by comedian Alistair McGowan - at the Hilton Hotel, Park Lane, London on 27 November.
Now in its sixteenth year, the Security Excellence Awards has consistently broken new ground in highlighting the very best people, projects and processes the UK’s security sector has to offer, and the awards are said to be recognised as the 'Oscars' for both the security and fire business sectors.
The Security Partnering Initiative of the Year award was specifically designed to recognise the security organisation or individual that has demonstrated the most success in working cohesively with its customers.
“I’m delighted that Team NEC has been recognised with this award, which highlights how closely our teams work together to create a safe and secure environment for everyone who visits our NEC Group venues,” said Paul Thrupp, Account Director for OCS at the NEC Group.
“Not only that, but it is external acknowledgement of the excellent team spirit that exists and the quality of the service we provide as we work collectively to deliver our shared objectives. This award will help us to be recognised as a supplier of choice as well as an employer of choice for many people within the security industry.”
The OCS/NEC Group submission included references to pooling resources to maximise efficiency; establishing a training academy at the NEC to deliver a centralised training programme for all four NEC Group venues; re-launching an ‘Ideas and Suggestions’ programme to give time and funding to support improvements; and inviting staff to offer suggestions and improvements to their role continually.
