Nightlife

Birmingham offers a thrilling programme of entertainment; unsurprising when you consider its events calendar must cater for one of the UK’s most youthful cities. Over 100 pubs, bars and clubs entertain Birmingham’s rich nightlife and vibrant street culture.

Throughout the city venues including Factory Club, Apt and Air (home to GodsKitchen) attract the best DJ’s from the UK and beyond.  More intimate locations such as The Jam House, Barfly and The Rainbow stage live music from household names and homegrown talent; they are great examples of Birmingham’s thriving independent music scene.

The uber stylish bars of Summerrow and the Arcadian Centre are two city centre locations that enjoy a thriving nightlife; Broad Street is Birmingham’s original partying location and its heart is still beating strong; providing the city with all manner of fashionable clubs and bars including The Living Room and The Works. Elsewhere in the city the bars and clubs surrounding Hurst Street are the centre of the city’s gay scene, which celebrates with The Birmingham Pride Festival each year at the end of May.

For those who like more relaxing (but no less exhilarating) entertainment - Symphony Hall, which is considered one of the finest concert halls in the world.  Symphony Hall’s acoustic excellence attracts the very best orchestras, including its house band, the celebrated City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO).  The recently renovated Birmingham Town Hall also offers an exciting programme of musical events throughout the year.

Birmingham’s distinguished theatres The Hippodrome and Alexandra stage leading productions straight from the West End, whilst The REP is famed for cutting edge and experimental drama.  Birmingham Royal Ballet, who have a reputation for being one of the finest troupes in the business, perform dancing spectaculars on a regular basis.

And of course Birmingham is home to The NEC Group venues; The NIA and the LG Arena provide a year-round programme of entertainment from the biggest artists in the world of music.
