NEC expands Event Management team

The National Exhibition Centre (NEC) has welcomed three new recruits to its experienced Event Management team; Tracey Duffy has joined the team as Event Manager, while Victoria Gibbon and Tasha Bray have been appointed as Assistant Event Managers.

The Assistant Event Manager positions are newly created roles which have been introduced to provide support to the Event Managers with the increased business at the NEC.

Commenting on the new appointments, NEC Event Director Linda Ritchie said: “We are thrilled to have welcomed Tracey, Victoria and Tasha to the team. All three bring enthusiasm and invaluable experience which will ensure that we continue to deliver events that go above and beyond the expectations of our organisers. The new Assistant Event Manager role will not only provide our organisers with more support than ever before, but will also increase resilience and provide succession planning within the team.”

New Event Manager, Tracey will be responsible for the operational planning and delivery of exhibitions and live events taking place on the NEC site. Before joining the NEC, she spent eight years as Area Event Manager for Cancer Research UK’s ‘Race for Life’ events.

Commenting on her new role, Tracey said: “I have always had a strong passion for live events so I jumped at the chance to work for the UK’s number one venue. I am looking forward to working closely with organisers to find innovative solutions to their event needs.”

As Assistant Event Managers, Victoria and Tasha will manage allocated exhibitions and events as well as assisting in the management and coordination of larger, more complex events. They will also act as the central point of contact for the client and internal departments to ensure each event runs smoothly.

Victoria, who previously worked as an Event Manager at the Beaumont Estate, said: “I’m really keen to expand my knowledge and learn more about the operational and health and safety elements involved in delivering live events. The NEC hosts over 500 events each year so I will have plenty of opportunity to do this. I’ve been attending events at the NEC for years so it’s exciting to now be working behind the scenes.”

Tasha joined the NEC from British Athletics where she was an event coordinator for televised events and event competitions. She said: “I am thrilled to have joined the NEC. The venue hosts some of the biggest and best live events in the industry, which will give me the opportunity to work with a wide variety of organisers and internal stakeholders. I aim to make the organiser journey with us as easy and straightforward as possible.”
